Vladislav Alimurzaevich Khabliev

Patron, businessman, and private collector
Collecting is the call of the soul and the influence of ancestral genetics. The owner of this collection is Vladislav Alimurzaevich Khabliev—patron, businessman, and private collector.

Vladislav Alimurzaevich Khabliev was born in Alania-Ossetia. He graduated from the Agricultural Institute with a degree in electrical engineering. At 26, he built his first food processing plant for producing chocolate candies, biscuits, wine, and fruit juices. He was transferred to Moscow, where he worked as a commercial director at the “Java” tobacco factory. At the beginning of the perestroika period, he founded several companies and was involved in major investment projects aimed at attracting foreign investments to the CIS countries (Philip Morris International, Nestlé, Cargill).

Since 1996, he has been living in Europe. He has initiated several investment projects, including a CD and DVD manufacturing plant in Switzerland and a television manufacturing plant in Slovakia, “UMC.” He has also been involved in the major investment project Sharp Manufacturing Poland and an agro-project in Slovakia: the Vinum Nobile wine production factory and agricultural products. Vladislav is passionate about history, and it is no surprise that the website features many articles by scholars from various countries and historical facts about the “influence of the Alans on European culture and life, particularly in Portugal.” In this context, an exhibition titled “From Alans to Ossetians” is being prepared in the Portuguese city of Cascais.

The collection has been assembled over 40 years, with artifacts acquired from various parts of the world: America, Canada, Europe, Russia, and Australia. The collection consists of several hundred items, including Caucasian/Ossetian weapons and clothing, and everyday objects. We express our deep gratitude to everyone who has provided invaluable help in creating the collection, the website, and the exhibition:

• Augusto Alemany—Professor, Associate Professor of Indo-European Linguistics, and leading scholar of the Alans in Europe;
• Marat Tsagarev—PhD, historian, and Alan specialist;
• Shapi Kurtaev—Specialist in Caucasian weapons and hereditary Kubachi master;
• Batraz Tsogoev—Specialist in weapons and national Caucasian costumes and expert in organizing exhibitions and museums;
• Tatyana Salionova—Coordinator of the website and exhibition organization;
• Vadim Enverovich Pukhaev—Painter and graphic designer for providing his paintings for articles and the main page of the website.

We also express our deep gratitude to the National Museum of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania for providing photographs.

Furthermore, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the President of the Cascais Cultural Center, Professor Salvato Telesh di Menzesh; the Director of the Cultural Center, Dr. Pedro Vinagra; and the head of the Cascais Fortress Exhibition Hall, Filomena Graça, for their kind provision of the venue and coordination of the exhibition in Cascais.
